How did you get the name ‘Fatafat’?
In 1972 itself, she appeared in A Vincent’s Malayalam film ‘Theertha Yatra’ with the screen name Supriya, after that in 1973, people liked her in ‘Ithu Manushyaano’. In 1974, she debuted in Tamil with ‘Aval Oru Thodar Kathai’, where she was credited as Jayalakshmi. She became famous among the people with her popular dialogue ‘Fatafat’ under this name. After this people immediately started calling her by the name of Jayalakshmi.

The decision of marriage became the bane of life.
Something similar happened with the actress also. When the actress’s stardom was at its peak, she fell in love with the nephew of former Tamil Nadu CM and actor MG Ramachandran.
