New Delhi. Railway Board will complete the process of adding 1000 new general coaches in 370 trains by the end of November to provide travel facilities to more than one lakh passengers every day. The board said in a press release that 583 general coaches have already been installed in several trains. Railways plans to add 10 thousand additional bogies to trains in the next two years. Once this happens, eight lakh additional passengers will be able to travel daily.
A senior Railway Board official said, “The process of connecting the remaining bogies is going on in all railway zones and divisions across the country. It will be completed by the end of this month. He said, “We have started preparations with a plan to deal with the festive crowd on Holi next year 2025.”

10 thousand coaches will be added
According to the Railway Board, it plans to add 10,000 non-AC coaches in the next two years after which more than eight lakh additional passengers will be able to travel daily. “All these 10,000 coaches are LHB class which ensures advanced safety features and passenger amenities,” he said.
Out of the 10 thousand new bogies, more than 6 thousand will be general second category coaches. Whereas, the rest will be sleeper class. Central Railway will add 90 GS coaches in 42 trains. More than 9 thousand passengers will benefit from this. Railways is going to increase the number of sleeper coaches by about 4 thousand bogies. Obviously, this is likely to provide relief from the long waiting list for reservation.
Railways’ emphasis on capacity expansion
Indian Railways is continuously increasing its capabilities. The move to increase the number of bogies in the train is a big relief for railway passengers. Railways plans to install at least four general coaches in each train. The new coaches will have better facilities for passengers. With the arrival of new coaches the number of seats in general class will increase. This will also increase the chances of passengers getting a seat.
