Quarterly results season is going to start with TCS from Thursday (January 9). Analysts say that macro economic data and rupee-dollar trend will also be important for the market. Swastika Investmart Ltd. Senior Research Analyst Pravesh Gaur said, “The results of the third quarter (October-December) of the current financial year are going to be announced this week. IT sector giants TCS and Tata Elxsi will announce their third quarter results on January 9. Investors will keep an eye on the performance of individual shares.

Keeping an eye on the budget and decisions of Donald Trump 2.0 administration
Gaur said that after the quarterly results, the market’s focus will be on the upcoming general budget and policy decisions of the Donald Trump 2.0 administration. Gaur said that FIIs have been net sellers, while DIIs have remained buyers. This kind of ‘struggle’ between FII and DII will continue in the future and will play an important role in giving direction to the market this week.

Will keep an eye on PMI and IIP data
Religare Broking Ltd. Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President (Research), said, “Looking at the second week of the new year, many major developments can affect the market sentiment. Quarterly results will start with TCS. The trend of FII withdrawal may reverse due to better results of the third quarter. Apart from this, investors will keep an eye on the data of HSBC Service PMI and IIP for further signals.

Talking about the global front, the details of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting will be announced this week.
