New Delhi: Relations between India and Canada remain tense. Justin Trudeau and his government are continuously trying to defame India. In his love for Khalistan, Justin Trudeau is ruining India-Canada relations. Meanwhile, India has rejected a report related to the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar published in a Canadian newspaper and termed it as nonsense. India has said that diplomatic relations between it and Canada are already tense and such a statement will worsen matters further.
In fact, Canadian media has claimed in its news that PM Modi was aware of the alleged conspiracy to murder Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has expressed strong protest on this and termed the news of Canadian media as a defamatory campaign. Also strongly condemned that media report. Referring to this news quoting an unidentified official, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that such ‘ridiculous statements’ should be rejected in the manner they deserve.
Responding to media queries, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘We generally do not comment on media reports. However, such absurd statements made in a newspaper quoting a Canadian government source should be dismissed with the contempt they deserve. Such disinformation campaigns further damage our already strained relations. He was reacting to the news of Canadian journalist ‘The Globe and Mail’.
Canadian newspaper ‘The Globe and Mail’ has recently claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was aware of Nijjar’s murder. However, the Ministry of External Affairs did not reveal the name of the media outlet which published this report. The death of terrorist Nijjar in June 2023 remains the center of diplomatic tension between India and Canada. The government of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused India of killing Nijjar. But he has not been able to provide any concrete evidence. India has been rejecting these allegations outright.
