Photos will soon be automatically deleted in WhatsApp and the speed of voice messages can be changed!

WhatsApp is reportedly testing a 24-hour option for disappearing messages feature on its Android, iOS and web/desktop platforms. This option is already present in the instant messaging app, which gives users the option to set a time period of one week (7 days) for messages to disappear. With this option, WhatsApp is now competing with the Telegram app, which already offers similar options to users. Recently, WhatsApp was reportedly seen testing the feature of changing the playback speed for voice messages on the public beta channel. However, it was removed from subsequent beta updates.

A report by WABetainfo, a website that tests features in WhatsApp’s beta program and publishes information about them, says that WhatsApp is planning to add a 24-hour option in addition to the 7-day option present in the Disappearing Messages feature. The app is testing this option on its Android, iOS and Web/Desktop platforms. The screenshot shared by the website shows the 24-hour option in the disappearing messages feature, where users will be able to choose this option for individual and group chats. Let us tell you that in this feature, the messages sent by the user are automatically deleted as soon as the time specified by the user is completed. Currently only 7 days option is available in Disappearing Message option.

WhatsApp previously only gave administrators the option to control disappearing messages. Recently, the company released an update for iOS that allows all members of a group to change the Disappearing Messages setting by default. WhatsApp is also testing the ability to bring the Disappearing Photos feature for both Android and iOS platforms.

Apart from this, a report says that WhatsApp has tested the voice message playback speed feature on the public beta channel. It was also enabled for some users on WhatsApp for Android Beta 2.21.9.4, but was removed back in the Beta 2.21.9.5 update the next day.
