College dropout Darren Craig started a tea business in 2021 after losing his job. He had only 7 dollars and he bought the ingredients to make tea with $300 (about Rs 25,000) of his last salary. Today, his company sells its tea in more than 600 grocery stores in the southeastern part of the United States.

One of Yolk Sweet Tea’s biggest achievements was its flavor “Georgia Peach,” which sold 10,000 units within 35 minutes of its launch. The company earned $100,000 from this flavor in just 8 minutes.

On Shark Tank, Craig and Echols demanded $500,000 in exchange for a 5% stake in the company. The company generated revenue of $4 million (about Rs 34 crore) last year, which includes a net profit of $800,000. This performance impressed investors.

Venture capitalist Rashaun Williams offered $500,000 for a 10% stake. Lore Grenier and Kevin O’Leary offered a joint investment for a 15% stake. In the end, Craig and Echols accepted Lorre and Rashaun’s proposal.
