Xiaomi Working on 7500mAh Battery 100W Charging 9mm Thickness Redmi Upcoming Smartphone Expected

Xiaomi is working on a prototype with a 7,500mAh battery, which could be introduced with future Redmi flagships. A tipster had claimed in August that the company is working on the technology to equip a 7,000mAh battery with 120W charging or a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging. Now, the same tipster has once again said that the company is working on a 7,500mAh single cell battery. This time it has been said that the thickness of this prototype will be only 9mm. Currently, the Xiaomi sub-brand is set to launch the Redmi K80 series, but the Pro model is likely to come with a 6,000mAh battery. It is possible that the company may introduce this technology with the Redmi K90 (expected name) series.

Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster in China, has claimed through a post on Weibo that Xiaomi is working on around 7,500mAh single cell battery and the prototype will be 9mm thick. Certainly achieving 9mm thickness with such a large battery cell would be impressive.

Earlier in August, the same tipster had claimed that Xiaomi is working on the technology to equip the smartphone with a 7,000mAh battery with 120W charging or a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging. Other smartphone manufacturers are also reportedly considering introducing high energy density battery packs in their upcoming phones.

Xiaomi’s main rivals OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo are also continuously working on handsets with larger batteries. Vivo has recently confirmed that its V20 series will come with a 6,500mAh battery. At the same time, Realme GT 7 Pro has been launched in China with 6,500mAh battery. However, fitting a 7,500mAh battery in a 9mm body would be a big achievement for Xiaomi and from there we can expect the trend of larger battery devices to start in the smartphone industry.
